OFF DELL'OFF

The outskirts and youth are at the heart of the “OFF dell’OFF” project, developed in collaboration with local schools and community associations, aimed at a unique artistic and emotional "re-literacy" for the new generations.
Workshops, performances, talks, debates, and special projects are designed to directly engage over 200 students in the Fringe events.
Actors and performers from Catania are the main protagonists of a program that spans a wide range of performing arts disciplines: theatre monologues, clowning, circus, juggling, comedies, readings, and performance-workshops in dance and singing.
A special thanks goes to the principals, coordinators, and teaching staff of the schools and partner associations enthusiastically supporting the success of the project:
I.C. “P.S. Di Guardo-Quasimodo”; I.C. “Italo Calvino”; I.O.S. “Angelo Musco”; Liceo Classico “Mario Cutelli”; Liceo Artistico Statale "Emilio Greco"; Punto Luce Catania – Save The Children Onlus; WonderLAD ETS.

“The Student on the Jury” is a full-immersion experience designed to train young critics, engaging them in the world of theatre in a creative, stimulating, and in-depth way.
Educational sessions will lead to the formation of a dedicated youth jury, tasked with attending at least 6 performances (of their choice from the 61 shows in the Fringe section) and awarding the F.I.L. Prize (Gross Internal Happiness) to the show they deem most deserving, based on the criteria and parameters introduced during the preparatory meetings.

In collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Catania, the Catania Off Fringe expands its territorial reach this year, involving also the Municipality of Mascalucia, with performances and focus events held at Villa Chiara and the Mario Re Permanent Theatre.

VILLAGE OFF – Our Artistic Station at the LE CIMINIERE Exhibition Centre

From October 13 to 26, the VILLAGE OFF becomes the beating heart of the festival.
Thanks to the support and strong collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Catania, the Fringe finally establishes its headquarters in one of the pavilions of the prestigious LE CIMINIERE Exhibition Centre, a magnificent complex of repurposed industrial architecture.
It serves as a meeting point for companies, professionals, and the public, hosting exhibitions, talks and focus sessions, concerts and events, book presentations, a refreshment area, an info point, and a box office for the Fringe section. From Thursday to Sunday, it comes alive with concerts and late-night events known as LE NOTTI DEL VILLAGE, all with free admission.
At the Village, you’ll encounter Fringe-performing companies, as well as authors, directors, commentators, and guests from the various debates and thematic talks. There’s also a kiosk offering “Fringe-style” refreshments for breakfast, brunch aperitifs, dinners, and night drinks.
A key new addition is the TRAINING PROJECT offered to festival companies:
Four days of professional development, including pitch sessions with cultural operators, international workshops, and labs led by artists or performing arts experts.
Also featured is the OFF LIBRIS & Brunch section, held every Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 PM—informal lunchtime gatherings with authors who represent contemporary storytelling, focused on themes like Theatre and Travel.
